At Northern Virginia Classical Academy, we are committed to reviving the time-tested principles of classical education. Rooted in the Western tradition, our approach emphasizes academic excellence, moral character, and civic virtue. We believe that true education goes beyond modern trends—it is about mastering foundational knowledge, critical thinking, and discipline.
Our curriculum is designed to equip students with the wisdom of the past to shape the future. Through direct instruction, a content-rich curriculum, and the study of Latin, philosophy, history, and classical literature, we develop scholars who are ready to lead with integrity and purpose.
Unlike many modern schools, we reject progressive education models that prioritize trends over substance. Instead, we focus on proven methods that foster deep understanding, intellectual curiosity, and a love for learning.
At Northern Virginia Classical Academy, we are committed to restoring a rigorous, knowledge-based education that prioritizes foundational learning, student accountability, and teacher-led instruction. We believe that the best way to prepare students for the future is to provide them with a strong intellectual foundation, moral character, and a deep appreciation for truth and wisdom.

Classical education is a time-tested approach that emphasizes foundational knowledge, critical thinking, and moral virtue. It focuses on mastering subjects like literature, history, philosophy, mathematics, and Latin through structured, teacher-led instruction.
Unlike most public and private schools, we use a content-rich, teacher-led approach with inquiry-based learning as a supplement. Teachers and parents collaborate to foster a love of great books, good habits, decorum, independence and resilience -- while setting firm boundaries on smartphones, social media, and excuse-making behavior.
No. We are secular and non-sectarian, meaning we focus on classical education without religious affiliation. However, we do emphasize civic virtue, Western traditions, and timeless values.
