At Northern Virginia Classical Academy, we offer a different approach to education—one built on teacher-led instruction, small class sizes, and limited technology. Instead of relying on screens, students learn through explicit instruction, discussion, books, and meaningful practice. Our personalized learning environment ensures each child receives the individual attention needed to build confidence and achieve academic success.
At Northern Virginia Classical Academy, we offer a different approach to education—one built on teacher-led instruction, small class sizes, and limited technology. We believe students learn best through explicit instruction, a content-rich curriculum, and meaningful practice, with individualized attention in a focused learning environment.
Unlike many classical schools, Northern Virginia Classical Academy is proudly secular. Rooted in the Western tradition of classical education, our curriculum develops strong readers, writers, mathematicians, and critical thinkers through the study of literature, history, science, mathematics, Latin, and the arts. We provide a rigorous, knowledge-rich education that is accessible to families of all backgrounds and beliefs.
Our small class sizes allow teachers to know each student well, provide personalized support, and foster strong relationships with families. Technology is used sparingly and purposefully, ensuring that books, discussion, writing, and direct interaction remain at the center of the learning experience.
By combining time-tested educational practices with evidence-based instruction, Northern Virginia Classical Academy prepares students with the knowledge, character, and confidence to thrive in high school, college, and beyond.
At Northern Virginia Classical Academy, we are committed to restoring a rigorous, knowledge-based education that prioritizes foundational learning, student accountability, and teacher-led instruction. We believe that the best way to prepare students for the future is to provide them with a strong intellectual foundation, moral character, and a deep appreciation for truth and wisdom.

Classical education is a time-tested approach that emphasizes foundational knowledge, critical thinking, and moral virtue. It focuses on mastering subjects like literature, history, philosophy, mathematics, and Latin through structured, teacher-led instruction.
Unlike most public and private schools, we use a content-rich, teacher-led approach with inquiry-based learning as a supplement. Teachers and parents collaborate to foster a love of great books, good habits, decorum, independence and resilience -- while setting firm boundaries on smartphones, social media, and excuse-making behavior.
